Discover Enumclaw WA

April 25, 2023

Enumclaw is a city that embraces its small-town charm, while still offering plenty to do throughout the year. Less than an hour from larger metro areas and SeaTac, it’s an attractive place to call home. If you’re considering purchasing one of our new homes in Enumclaw WA, then discover more of what this city has to offer.

With its proximity to Mount Rainier National Park, The Chinook Scenic Byway and Crystal Mountain Resort, you’ll find plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy all year long. There’s plenty of skiing at the various resorts, especially at Crystal Mountain, but you can also enjoy winter fishing at the four nearby rivers. Mount Rainier is great for those looking for more challenging hiking, but if you want something more relaxed, Nolte State Park has a loop that circles Deep Lake for a comfortable walk. For a real adventure, try the gliders at Puget Sound Soaring Association.

There’s plenty to enjoy within the city, as well. Take the historical walking tour to learn more about the city’s history through prominent sidewalk markers, as well as statues that honor the logging heritage of Enumclaw. There’s also the Enumclaw History Museum, which is open Thursdays and Sundays 1:00 to 4:00 pm.

The city is proud of its heritage, but it’s still a vibrant place full of great shopping, dining, and entertainment, as well as various seasonal festivities. Around Cole Street, you’ll find a variety of independently-owned boutiques, and other stores for a leisurely day out. Plus, there are plenty of delicious eateries, wine bars, and breweries, and even wine walks. For both sweet and savory pies, don’t miss The Pie Goddess. Other favorites include The Kettle, Griffin & Wells Cafe, The Historic Mint Restaurant & Alehouse, City Hall Saloon & Eatery, and Avalanche Delite.

For your own home cooking, visit the Rusty Plow Farm to pick your own blueberries and pick up some other local ingredients. There’s also the Mason Jar Farm that is a CSA, as well as a stand for fresh, local produce, and the Enumclaw Plateau Farmer’s Market.

There are also seasonal events, including the King County Fair, the oldest fair west of the Mississippi, and the Scottish Highland Games, both in July. There are Sundays on Cole Street, Concerts in the Park, rodeos, a Christmas Parade and tree lighting, and much more to enjoy all year long.
